Becoming a Member
Membership in the Tarheel Forensic League is open to all public and private secondary schools in North Carolina.
Member schools may also sponsor auxiliary units at the junior high or middle school level. Middle schools, junior high schools, and institutions of higher education that wish to support high school speech and debate may join as Associate Members; Associate Members pay the same dues as regular members but do not have voting, State Championship participation, or office-holding privileges.
Membership is renewed annually, and annual dues are established by the TFL Executive Board.
To become a member, a school should complete the League’s membership registration and submit its annual dues. Dues must be paid by December 1 to avoid a late-payment penalty and must be current for a school to maintain voting privileges and participate in the TFL State Championship.
